Surgery & Implantology
Flap surgery is necessary when underlying bones need to be exposed in order to remove a part of it. Teeth that is badly worn, naturally short needs this kind of surgery. If you have this kind of problem, don’t be afraid to surrender yourself to our specialists.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place. They can be more conservative than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. Dental implants are so natural looking and feeling that you may forget you ever lost a tooth. Dental implants can be the best solution to the problem of missing teeth. Since dental implants integrate into the structure of your bone, they can prevent the bone loss and gum recession that often accompanies bridgework and dentures. No one will ever know that you have a replacement tooth.
The ideal candidate for a dental implant is in good general and oral health. Adequate bone in your jaw is needed to support the implant. Dental implants are intimately connected with the gum tissues and underlying bone in the mouth. The best candidates have healthy gum tissues that are free of periodontal disease. Smoking is detrimental to healing but is not an absolute contraindication.
GUM DISEASE TREATMENT
The main cause of periodontal disease is bacteria in the form of a sticky, colorless plaque that constantly forms on your teeth; however, many other factors can cause periodontal (gum) disease or influence its progression.
Following are some of the procedures that periodontists use to treat patients diagnosed with a periodontal (gum) disease:
Non-surgical periodontal treatments include scaling and root planning (a careful cleaning of root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus [tartar] from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins), followed by adjunctive therapy such as local delivery of antimicrobials and host modulation, as needed, on a case-by-case basis.
If you’re diagnosed with periodontal disease, your periodontists may recommend periodontal surgery. Periodontal surgery is necessary when your periodontists determine that the tissue around your teeth is unhealthy and cannot be repaired with non-surgical treatment.
THE USE OF LASERS IN PERIODONTAL THERAPY
A minimally invasive periodontal disease therapy incorporating dentistry’s two best laser wavelengths. The use of laser technology enables wavelength-optimized treatments for periodontal therapy, which creates the optimal conditions for healing periodontal tissues by removing the diseased epithelial lining of the periodontal pocket, removing microbial biofilm and calculus from the root surface and sealing the pocket after treatment with a stable fibrin clot. This procedure is the most patient-friendly treatment of periodontal disease. The procedure is fast, minimally invasive, there are no scalpels or sutures and bleeding is minimal.
CURES FOR BAD BREATH
Almost all of us have experienced times when our breath has become a problem, and sometimes the solution is more than just brushing.
Bad breath, also known as “halitosis” or “Oral Malodor” is not an insurmountable problem. Appropriate cures for bad breath are usually very simple once the sufferer understands the fundamental causes of his /her breath odors. Typically, bad breath can come from anaerobic oral bacteria which have accumulated on the person’s tongue and also between and around his/her teeth or also from broken or leaking fillings, gum disease, impacted teeth or a build up. Here at ” Corbani Cosmetic dentistry” Dental clinic, we can evaluate the problem and treat it. Our Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine Unit will take care of medical and surgical treatments of oral diseases.
